We were talking talking to our friend Koky from Baby Tree Projects a few weeks ago, and he mentioned a project that the volunteer team undertook at one of their previous school builds in rural Cambodia. Essentially, the volunteers had a camera which they would give to a student at the school each day and ask them to go away and take a single photograph of the one thing which makes them happy.
The results were quite profound and it really got us thinking about what it is that helps us to achieve the one common goal shared by all of us – Happiness… So Louis and I decided we would carry on this project in each country that we visit. Countless people from such a vast range of countries – each with their own blessings and challenges – will be answering that one simple question, “What makes you happy”.
To provide some context, I have started this right here at home by asking my two younger brothers to do the same thing. Campbell and William are 8 and 5 years old respectively, and are both blessed with a good education, a loving family and all of the other things which are “normal” to us in Australia. They are blessed and beautiful children. I’ve also asked a group of our friends and family the same thing.
I’m not sure what the outcome of this project will be, but I truly hope it provides some sort of inspiration for all of us to sit back and be grateful for how much we really do have…
Additionally, if you want to be involved then simply send in a picture of yourself, your location and the one thing which makes you happiest via the contact form below. We’d love for you to be a part of this!!!
