With six weeks to go until we board our first flight from Brisbane to Vietnam to kick off the Asian leg of our adventure, it felt like a good time to reflect on the journey to date, and to be grateful to some of the amazing people and companies who have helped us to make this dream become a reality. Whilst the vast majority of this trip is self funded, it would be remiss of us to not acknowledge the kindness of Kathmandu and Smile Clothing for supporting what we are doing, and to thank them for all that they have done.
Kathmandu have provided us with all of our packs, outer wear, travel & first aid gear, and countless other awesome things to keep us safe, dry and sane (travel speakers are a saviour!) over the next 18 months. Kathmandu were our first choice for all of our gear and the team at head office and at the Melbourne CBD store could not have been more supportive, knowledgeable or friendly when helping us to select our new toys!
Smile Clothing are a relative newcomer compared to the Kathmandu powerhouse, but they are making such a massive difference to so many people with their ‘sustainable giving’ model, that they are fast becoming an independent powerhouse in their own right. Smile’s motto is “Give first, wear second”. For every item of clothing they sell, they donate a school uniform or T-shirt to a child in need – all over the world. We believe whole heartedly in the mission that Smile are fulfilling, and we are incredibly proud to be partnering with and raising awareness of their brand and business model.
To have such great Australian and innovative organisations supporting us really has made a world of difference to us in bringing this trip to fruition. So, from the bottom of our hearts we want to say thank you, and we are so excited to be able to share this journey with you all. Please check out all of our partners websites below to see some of the amazing work they are doing in both local and international communities to try and make a difference.Peace
